'E.C.'s Log for the 13" [Astrographic Equatorial]', Plates D2073-D3183 and D5402-D5727, 7 June 1963 - 14 February 1965 and 4 April - 16 December 1968
Scope and Contents
Volume of printed 'Forms No. 261' with handwritten entries for photographic plates made with the 13-inch Astrographic Equatorial. Covers plate nos D2073-D3183, 7 June 1963 - 14 February 1965 (in blue ink) and plates D5402-D5727, 4 April - 16 December 1968 (in red ink). Notes on the first pages concern processing of the information in the register, e.g. a note that only the entries in red were to be 'punched' [presumably into a computerised record no longer extant]. The register is entirely in one hand, thought to be that of 'E.C'. (E.D. Clements, Astrometry Department).
Column headings are: no. of photo, date, observer, position of telescope, orient. screw and focus readings, R.A., Dec. North, Micrometer scale readings (R.A. and Dec.), clock times of exposures (begin, end, duration), barometer (external and internal therm.), plate and development, field of object, remarks, and signature. Plate D2490 includes the remark 'meteor trail across plate'. A loose punch card and four pages of notes are inserted in the volume.
